Protected Animals Regulation
You must be aware that unlike in a recent past, the regulation on protected species is more and more enforced... And that the penalties can be very high (fine and prison term).
Less and less restaurant propose illegal game.
The only wild animals that are authorized:
- Pac (mammal)
- Agouti (mammal)
- Pakira/Pécari/Cochon bois (mammal)
- Tatou (mammal)
- Cabaï (mammal)
- Iguane (reptile)
Concerning handcraft & souvenirs, are forbidden:
- Stuffed mammals, reptiles and birds
- Parrot and Ibis feathers
- Tanned skins
- Teeth, claws, antlors, becs (except the list for restaurants)
